Can I stay on track? A food diary.

 Waaaaa!!!

This week has been a blur. Work has been busy, I've ended up sidetracked on my research so I'm not prepared for next week. But at least I set myself up to be off on Sat!

Food has been OK. Wed. night on my way home I was craving sweets so I stopped by a gas station and got a HUGE bag of good n plenties (yeah, I love black licorice) and snarfed them down. I was so depressed about when I got home, but why didn't I stop myself BEFORE??? Augh.

Yesterday was really good though! I had banana and yogurt for breakfast, wasn't hungry for a snack but ate lunch a little early. PB2 on wheat, soymilk, veggies and cherries. Dinner was 2 slices from a large veggie pizza and two yummy beers while discussing the new server we want to build at work between my boss and a friend who's a computer guru. Needed something on my way home so I grabbed my apple. Rolled in at about 1400 cals!

Today's plan, sans calories cause I'm lazy :
bfast
cheerios
banana
yogurt

lunch
black bean burger
veggies
cherries
soymilk

random snacks
100 cal muffins
quaker quakes (caramel - YUM!!)
apple
nectarine

Dinner is likely my last teriyaki portabella shroom and a sweet potatoe and don't know what else. We might be stargazing tonight, so I'll need to fuel on more protein to last me until 2 am-ish, but the skies aren't looking to hot so I'm playing dinner by ear.

OK, gotta get moving for work!! Keep it up ladies!

 June 18

So I don't think I ate to terribly at the picnic, except the 3 cookies throughout the afternoon. Probably a bad idea overall, but not terrible given what damage I COULD have done during the picnic!

Today's plan:
Worked out - WOO!

breakfast
corn bran - 130
banana - 140
nonfat yogurt - 80

lunch
portabella mushroom - 15
wheat bread - 80
teriyaki sauce - 21
cheddar cheese - 85
carrots - 45
broccoli - 25

dinner
black bean burger - 140
snap peas - 35
tomatoes - 35
soymilk - 80
protein powder - 40

random snacks
100 cal muffins - 100
apple - 80
nectarine - 65
cherries - 85

Looking about 1400, I also have popcorn at work (110) if need be. My dinner is the dinner for Monday that didn't get eaten b/c of needing to help my friend, but I can't remember what else was in it besides what I listed here...so having "buffer room" will help.

I'm feeling OK today, fingers crossed that I'll stay on track...I have a TON of food so as long as I keep myself full, esp before I leave to drive home, I should be OK.

 PS - PB2 review

Oh, and the PB2 review:

Shake - interesting, I should have left the strawberry out as it had a funky aftertaste of berry, but it made a heavenly shake! I need to find some chocolate flavored protein mix to go w/ it for the ultimate chocolate/PB fix.

I did have a PB&J w/ it yesterday for lunch. It mixed up well per the directions, and it was fairly decent on a sandwich. I'd have to try it plain before I make a final call as to it's use. But I think mixing w/ something, like a smoothie or jelly, or even baking use, would be a good, low fat low cal PB substitute.

June 17 - Sorry So Long

Sorry so long b/w posts. We had some trauma/tragedies in my circle of friends the last 3 or 4 days, so I had some other obligations to deal with. And yes, that means I ate like crap. Without going into the details, I just have to say that I'm glad I have such an amazing group of "family" here, that if anything ever happened to me or my husband I know I can count on their love and support.

Back on the wagon today!!

First things first, I originally didn't think ANYONE besides my DG would read this blog...so I used the term "fuffalo" which as disturbing as it may sound, isn't really. I'm vegetarian, have been for about 15 years. Anything faux-meat gets the "f" at the front - ie "facon" for fake bacon, "ficken" for fake chicken. Fuffalo is the highly addictive fake buffalo wings made by Morningstar Farms. I it in an amazing way, as I love spicy foods and it's totally convenient, plus the stats aren't horrible for a buffalo wing (200 cals, 9g fat, 3g fiber, 11g protein for 5, but I usually eat 4).

So today of course I'm going to get back on the wagon and eat healthy...on the day of our department picnic!! I know there will be veggie burgers, and someone will surely bring a veggie tray, prob fruit and pasta salads...so I'll try to estimate later what I had.

Bfast is going to be something lite...I have to go pick up a sample from a customer on my way in so I get to leave late for work. So bfast is TBD, but probably in the 300 calorie range.

Best of luck to you all today! And remember to HUG YOUR FRIENDS AND FAMILY AND TELL THEM YOU LOVE THEM!!!

Friday the 13th - Hopefully a "Good Omen"

So I went to HyVee to get stuff to bake a cake for our friend's kids' party, and wandered by the health food section. I got a container of PB2, it's powdered PB w/ lower fat (3g per 2 tbsp) and 54 cals per 2 tbsp. I had heard it's "meh" as PB but great in smoothies, and I have a banana going brown so bfast smoothie will be fun today!

My plan:
breakfast
smoothie - 345
(1c strawberries, 1 banana, soymilk powder, protein powder, PB2)

am snack
nectarine - 60
100 cal muffins - 100

lunch
Fuffalo wings - 160
carrots - 45
broccoli - 25
tomatoes - 35
yogurt - 80

pm snack
grapes - 115

Coming up at 975. I'll have to post dinner later, as we're going to grill at a friend's before the star party, so Lord only know what side dishes the husband will buy. I told him "moderately healthy" but who knows what he'll go with.

Last night was good, I baked and DID lick the beaters persay, but the kids wanted a rice krispie cake (ie rice krispie decorated like a cake) so removing about a tbsp of rice krispie treat from the spatula w/ my teeth is about all the cheating I did!!

I'll report on that smoothie later...
